Philip Loewen, a graduate of Princeton University (B.A.) and New York University’s Stern Business School (M.B.A.), has more than 15 years experience in finance and investment banking, with an emphasis on serving the financial needs of emerging growth companies.
From 1985 to 1989, as a Manager with Scotia-bank Investment Banking, Philip marketed interest rate and currency risk management products to corporate clients in Toronto and New York. After completing his M.B.A in 1991, he joined Midland Walwyn Capital’s corporate finance department in Toronto. Working with companies in a variety of industries from 1991 to 1994, and then as a senior member of Midland's Technology Investment Banking team from 1995 to 1999, he executed numerous IPOs, public equity offerings and institutional private placements.
In 1999 Philip moved to New York to head Merrill Lynch's New York based middle market technology M&A team, offering mergers & acquisitions advisory services, leveraged buy-outs, fairness opinions, re-capitalization transactions and institutional private placements to small-cap and mid-cap private and public companies in the technology sector. Philip joined Loewen & Partners in 2002.
